New Student

We are so excited to have a new student, Cameron! She will be starting lessons on Tuesday!

Summer Lessons!

I am posting a preliminary outline of the summer piano lessons. I am very excited to offer a different approach to our summer lessons this year!!! My plans are to provide several group lessons during the summer. These group lessons will replace the weekly individual lessons for the summer. My current lessons plans include Theory, Rhythm, Music Reading, and Dynamics. I may add another 1-2 categories. There will be more information available in the next few weeks!

Reading Music!!!

Almost every student has been working with me each week to increase our fluency in reading music. We have been using flashcards and our board to work each week. I have started timing everyone to help increase our speed. Beginning in March, we will launch our "Notes In The Fastlane Competition." I will post our weekly results so check back soon!

I have set a goal to do a better job of keeping the piano blog updated more frequently this year. Please check back periodically to see what is going on during our piano lessons each week.

Lessons will resume the week of January 10, 2011. I am looking forward to seeing everyone you next week. Practice, Practice, Practice.

I am also posting the dates for cancelled lessons due to holidays and school breaks. I hope this helps everyone with their schedules.

February 21, 2011 - Cancel - Presidents Day
March 21 - 25, 2011 - Cancel - Spring Break
May 27, 2011 - Last day for Spring Lessons before summer lessons begin.

Off To A Great Start

We are off to a great start. Everyone has been practicing really well and working hard. We will be starting a new "Notes In The Fast Lane Competition" in 2 weeks. If you are interested in competing, please let me know. Keep up the good work!!!!!
